frances gumm
Paul D. and the boys of Frances Gumm live at the West Bank School of Art. Maybe 2000? 2001? Damn, wish I wouln't have left the WBSA log behind when I disappeared. Maybe somebodies got it somewhere. Anyways, they played music at Sven von Lynch's first WBSA show.

theft of the palmers chair
A long night at Palmers and then somehow this chair followed us back to the art school. It went home the next day.

Will, Petrich
Uncle Hoodlum was my first art teacher. He started the first West Bank School of Art aka Uncle Hoodlum's School of Art for Wayward Youth in the backyard of the Hard Times after shortly after the last Cedarfest. I didn't want to paint. I just wanted to hang out, drink coffee, and smoke things like cigarettes and stuff. He kind of tricked me and sold my first painting at the Viking to Johno for 2 hundred bucks. After that, I figured it was time to be an artist.

The evening is just getting started.
Sven got the art on the walls
and is just getting started vernissagering
or whatever it is that those fancy art guys do.

Per Hanson show
Per Hanson show, wind-powered kinetic sculpture. Per calls them
whirligigs as do most people I guess.
Click on pics to enlarge if that sort of thing turns your crank.
